Russian Armed Forces units are continuing to eliminate blocked Ukrainian formations in the southwestern part of Konstantinovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. Over the past day, Russian troops took control of 117 buildings in the city, according to the Russian Defense Ministry’s June 14 update on the progress of the special military operation.
The ministry said Ukrainian losses reached up to 90 servicemen, along with three armored vehicles and 20 pickup trucks.
According to the department, the advance of Russian forces in Konstantinovka has forced Kyiv to begin evacuating key enterprises from Kramatorsk and Druzhkovka to western Ukraine.
The Russian Defense Ministry said the successful actions and movement of units from the Southern Group of Forces in Konstantinovka had pushed the Kyiv authorities to start relocating major enterprises, organizations, and their personnel from Kramatorsk and Druzhkovka to western Ukraine.
In Krasny Liman, the Russian army took another 37 buildings and reached the northwestern outskirts of the city. Search-and-destroy operations against scattered Ukrainian groups and individual servicemen are continuing there.
Konstantinovka is located in the northern part of the Donetsk People’s Republic, about 55 kilometers from Donetsk. The city is important for supplying the Ukrainian grouping in the Kramatorsk-Slavyansk agglomeration, as it contains a major transit railway hub.
On June 11, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Russian troops had fully taken control of eastern Konstantinovka and reached its northeastern outskirts. Fighting also continues in the southwestern districts of the city and on the grounds of the Konstantinovka Metallurgical Plant.
