Russia’s Defense Ministry reports the capture of Verbovoe in Dnepropetrovsk, with over 10 sq km secured as “East” units push Ukrainian forces back.

According to the latest report from Russia’s Ministry of Defense on the progress of the special military operation, dated October 1, Russian troops have taken full control of the village of Verbovoe in the Dnepropetrovsk region.
The ministry stated that more than 10 square kilometers of territory were brought under Russian control during the fighting for the settlement. The operation to capture Verbovoe was carried out by units of the Russian Armed Forces’ «East» group.
Verbovoe is located in the southeastern part of Dnepropetrovsk region, west of the village of Stepovoe. It came under Russian control on September 27. According to census data from 2001, the village had a population of 236 people.
The Ministry of Defense also reported that troops from the «East» group continue active combat operations, driving Ukrainian forces from fortified positions in both the Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye regions.
