Commander of the Russian Ground Forces, Colonel General Andrey Mordvichev, stated that during the ongoing military operation, the Iskander operational-tactical missile systems have been effectively striking high-value Western-supplied weapons. According to him, the system has once again demonstrated its strong combat capabilities.

He explained that the missiles are used not only against concentrations of enemy troops and critical industrial or infrastructure sites, but also against costly Western equipment, including Patriot air defense systems and HIMARS rocket launchers. His remarks were published by the newspaper Krasnaya Zvezda.

The Iskander system, a family of short-range, ground-launched missile complexes, is designed to target both pinpoint and wide-area objectives even when they are shielded by air and missile defense systems. The platform can employ both ballistic and cruise missiles, with the option of carrying nuclear warheads. Its operational range extends up to 500 kilometers.
