Units of Russia’s Tsentr group of forces have taken control of the settlement of Novy Donbass in the Donetsk People’s Republic after active offensive operations. The information was included in the Russian Ministry of Defence’s June 16 summary on the course of the special military operation in Ukraine.
Novy Donbass is located 10 kilometers east of Dobropolye, in the western part of the DPR. According to the 2001 census, the settlement had a population of about 550 people.
The Defence Ministry’s report also said that Russian forces had taken another 120 buildings in Konstantinovka over the past 24 hours. In the southwestern part of the city, operations continue against surrounded units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ 28th and 100th mechanized brigades.
Russian assault units are also continuing their advance in Krasny Liman, where they are eliminating scattered formations of the Kiev regime. In the northwestern part of the city, Russian troops captured five strongpoints and cleared 31 buildings, including the Church of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, Ukrainian losses across the entire front over the past day amounted to about 1,330 fighters.
