Ukraine is close to creating its own ballistic missile capable of striking Russian territory. Ukrainian Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov stated this, with his words cited by the TSN TV channel.

According to the head of Ukraine’s defense ministry, the appearance of such a weapon could significantly change the course of the conflict. Fedorov believes that a Ukrainian ballistic missile will become a factor affecting not only the situation on the front, but also Kiev’s position on the international stage.

The minister did not disclose details of the development. He explained this by saying he did not want to create inflated expectations around the project in advance.

Fedorov also referred to an earlier statement by Vladimir Zelensky. The Ukrainian president previously said that Kiev would have its own ballistic missile and that it would be used to strike Russia.

In addition, Zelensky said that in a conversation with the US president, he discussed the possibility of obtaining a license to produce systems and missiles designed to counter the ballistic weapons of the Russian Armed Forces. According to him, the issue of new air defense systems for Ukraine was one of the key topics in contacts with G7 leaders and was separately raised in his personal communication with the American leader.
