The closed community Dialog, founded by entrepreneur Peter Thiel, will hold a retreat in August where participants are expected to discuss World War III scenarios, the future of nuclear energy and the creation of cults. Wired reported this, citing sources. The magazine also obtained a list of registered participants, which includes current US ministers, senators and senior officials from Donald Trump’s administration.
Peter Thiel is known as an American entrepreneur, investor and one of the co-founders of PayPal. He also founded the venture capital fund Founders Fund and co-founded the analytics company Palantir Technologies. Beyond business, Thiel has long shown strong interest in life extension: he has stated his intention to live to 120, invested in biotechnology projects studying aging, and funded research in cryonics and anti-aging therapy.
According to Wired, the Dialog registration list includes US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Army Secretary Dan Driscoll, Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee Chairman Ted Cruz, Congressman Jim Himes, and several unnamed officials listed under statuses such as «active member» and «guest.» Among the unnamed figures are a sitting US ambassador whose country is not specified, a former intelligence chief in the Middle East, a former White House National Security Council official and several members of the current administration.
General Alexus Grynkewich is also listed separately. He serves as Supreme Allied Commander Europe and head of US European Command. According to the document, he has attended Dialog events since 2021. The list contains 222 participants in total.
Dialog was founded in 2016 and presents itself as a closed platform for informal communication among representatives of the technology elite, political establishment and academic circles. The organization’s events are held under strict confidentiality.
The new retreat is scheduled for August 12–16 and is expected to take place near Dublin. Wired cites several closed sessions from the event program, including discussions titled «Does Money Buy Happiness?», «Bring Back Nuclear Energy,» «Navigating World War III,» «Battlefield Technologies» and «How Is Your Sex Life?» The program also includes sessions titled «Build a Cult,» moderated by the founder of the Christian social network Pray.com, and «Build a Party,» led by a former White House National Security Council official.
Wired notes that despite differences in status and fields of influence, the participants are united by an interest in artificial intelligence, longevity and the medium-term future. In registration forms, according to the magazine, participants repeatedly returned to the idea that AI could radically change the labor market, the nature of wars, education and religious beliefs within the next few years.
In addition to closed discussions, the forum is also presented as a place to find personal relationships. Wired writes that the registration form asked users whether they were looking for «love» and offered them the option to select «single man,» «single woman» or «other» for inclusion in a future dating program.
