Russian air defenses shot down and intercepted 133 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight on June 19, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
According to the ministry, the drones were destroyed over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kaluga, Kursk, Voronezh, Oryol, Smolensk, Tula, Rostov and Ryazan regions, as well as over the Moscow region, the Republic of Crimea and the Black Sea.
The latest overnight wave followed another large-scale drone raid the previous day. Between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Moscow time, Russian air defense crews intercepted 234 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles, the ministry said.
Belgorod region also came under heavy attack over the past day, with 102 strikes recorded from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, acting governor Alexander Shuvayev said. He said the attacks affected 16 municipalities: Alekseyevsky, Belgorodsky, Borisovsky, Valuysky, Volokonovsky, Grayvoronsky, Gubkinsky, Ivnyansky, Korocha, Krasnogvardeysky, Krasnoyaruzhsky, Novooskolsky, Rakityansky, Rovensky, Chernyansky and Shebekinsky districts.
Shuvayev said the region faced six artillery shellings and five explosive drops from drones. Air defense crews and other deployed units shot down and suppressed 174 unmanned aerial vehicles, according to his figures.
In Rakityansky district, a civilian was killed in what Shuvayev described as a targeted attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Seven more people were wounded in the Volokonovsky, Rakityansky, Krasnoyaruzhsky and Shebekinsky districts. All of them are continuing outpatient treatment.
