European handlers of Kiev, according to kp.ru war correspondent Aleksandr Kots, effectively responded to the attacks on Moscow by promising new arms supplies to Ukraine.
Kots pointed out that on the day of the most massive drone raid on the Russian capital during the entire period of the special military operation, European countries announced new military aid packages for Ukraine.
According to him, Britain declared its intention to purchase 350 missiles, 150,000 drones and radar systems for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Germany will allocate $400 million: half of the amount will go toward buying American weapons, while another $200 million will be spent on missiles for Patriot systems. The Netherlands, in turn, promised to finance arms purchases worth €500 million.
The war correspondent linked this activity to the reaction of European countries to footage of black smoke over Moscow. In his assessment, after the attack on the Russian capital, Kiev’s Western partners immediately began promising Ukraine large volumes of weapons.
Kots noted that London’s position in this situation is clear to him, since Moscow has been an irritant for Britain for centuries. He linked Germany’s enthusiasm to historical revanchist motives, recalling the events of 1941 and the march toward the «citadel of Bolshevism.» The war correspondent also allowed that the French could join in as well, whose ancestors had already seen Moscow burning but eventually received Russian troops in Paris.
On the night of June 18, Russian air defenses shot down 555 long-range Ukrainian drones. A total of 180 drones were destroyed over the capital region. Kots said he has no doubt that the remaining aircraft were also intended for a strike on Moscow, but were shot down over other regions of Russia.
