Russian forces from the Southern Group have taken control of Yurkovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Russia’s Defense Ministry said.
According to the ministry, Russian strikes targeted manpower and equipment from five mechanized brigades, as well as motorized infantry, airmobile, artillery and mountain assault units. The ministry also listed Ukraine’s unmanned systems brigade, a marine brigade and a territorial defense brigade among the formations hit.
Fighting also continued in Konstantinovka. Over the past week, assault units from the Southern Group operated in the southwestern part of the settlement, where the Defense Ministry said they destroyed encircled Ukrainian forces. Russian troops also advanced in the Nikolayevsky microdistrict.
The ministry said 627 buildings in Konstantinovka came under Russian control during the week. Ukrainian losses in that area exceeded 540 servicemen, while more than 160 pieces of weapons and military equipment and 116 vehicles were destroyed.
Across the Southern Group’s area of responsibility, Ukrainian forces lost more than 985 troops, 27 armored combat vehicles, 143 vehicles and 23 field artillery guns over the week, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.
