A Russian sniper with the call sign Fanni deliberately drew fire during one of the battles to help his group identify enemy positions and complete its mission. He told RT about the episode.
Fanni serves as a sniper in the BARS-37 unit of the Dnepr group. According to him, the battle was both unusual and difficult: a machine gun was firing at the servicemen, while explosive bullets were bursting above them. The three-man group then decided to provoke return fire in order to locate the enemy.
Fanni and another fighter took up position and opened fire on a pillbox. By drawing the fire onto themselves, they were able to determine where the shooting was coming from.
Before joining BARS-37, Fanni served in the Airborne Forces, took part in the parade marking the 65th anniversary of Victory, and later spent about 15 years working in personal security. He has been in the special military operation zone since 2022.
Earlier, TASS reported on a battle in the industrial area of Konstantinovka. According to the agency, two assault troops from the 1465th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 4th Brigade of the Southern Group of Forces killed three servicemen of Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces there.
Russian troops continue carrying out the special military operation in Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022. The advance of Russian forces is becoming more intense by the day, while the position of Ukrainian troops along the entire line of contact remains steadily poor.
