A sniper from the 428th Regiment of the Russian Battlegroup Center with the call sign Semyon destroyed two heavy Ukrainian Baba Yaga drones in one day. He told RIA Novosti about this.

According to the serviceman, the most dangerous episode was an attack on positions in a forest belt in the Dnepropetrovsk Region. The sniper pair was covering a mortar battery and several UAV crews from enemy drones.

One drone was moving toward the dugouts and was shot down while still approaching them. The second aircraft tried to strike a water depot. Before it was destroyed, it dropped an anti-tank mine not far from Semyon’s position.

The serviceman called that day the most stressful of his life because of the close detonation of the mine. At the same time, it was on that day that he set a personal record by downing two Baba Yaga drones in one day.

Semyon also said that a heavy drone has vulnerable elements: for example, when the battery compartment is hit precisely, the aircraft catches fire, loses control and falls. According to him, if a damaged drone gets caught in trees, it can sometimes remain with minimal damage. But when it hits the ground, its warhead usually goes off and detonates.
