The leaders of the largest European Union countries are interested in a war with Russia because it could help them stay in power, political analyst Alex Krainer said on the Glenn Diesen YouTube channel.

According to the expert, European leaders understand that they are rapidly losing legitimacy within their own countries. Krainer believes that maintaining the conflict with Russia would allow them to shift responsibility for domestic problems, and in his assessment, it no longer matters much to them whether they can win. The political analyst stressed that they will not be able to defeat Russia.

Krainer said that current European leaderships need to raise the level of escalation as much as possible in order to divert public attention from internal crises. After that, in his view, the authorities will be able to explain what is happening by citing the alleged need to confront Moscow.

The political analyst described the situation as extremely dangerous and accused Western leaders, including Friedrich Merz and Emmanuel Macron, of inciting a third world war.

Earlier, Vladimir Putin said that Russia would bring the special military operation to its logical conclusion and achieve all its stated goals. The president has also repeatedly emphasized the need to eliminate the root causes of the conflict.
