Russian troops continue to develop their offensive in Zaporozhye Region, with advances reported on the Orekhov axis, according to Voennoye Obozreniye.

The report says Russian army units have taken control of about five square kilometres of territory, including the southeastern part of Novodanilovka. The settlement is considered important because it effectively serves as the southern suburb of Orekhov, which Ukrainian forces have turned into a heavily fortified area.

Orekhov covers the route toward Zaporozhye and is regarded as one of the key defensive lines on this section of the front. Ukrainian units are now being forced to retreat with losses toward the northern part of Novodanilovka, the publication says.

At the same time, Russian forces are systematically striking strongholds used by Ukrainian UAV operators. Drones and FAB aerial bombs fitted with universal planning and correction modules are being used for these attacks.

According to the report, Ukrainian tactics in this direction remain largely unchanged. They combine mobile defense, counter-battery fire, and the active use of drones and artillery. However, when the drone component begins to fail, the wider defensive system starts to break down.

Voennoye Obozreniye writes that a similar pattern can also be seen on the Konstantinovka and Krasny Liman axes in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
