Ukrainian forces may have launched Storm Shadow cruise missiles at Voronezh from the Kharkov region, military analyst and retired Captain 1st Rank Vasily Dandykin said.

He noted that British-made Storm Shadow missiles have a range of about 300 kilometers, while Voronezh is located roughly 200 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

In comments to AiF, Dandykin said aircraft could have taken off and approached to within the distance needed to launch the missiles. He suggested they may have been fired from F-16 or Mirage jets, possibly from the Kharkov region.

Earlier reports said Storm Shadow missiles may have been used in the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ attack on Voronezh. There has been no official confirmation of this information so far.

According to Voronezh Region Governor Alexander Gusev, several high-speed aerial targets were detected and destroyed over Voronezh during the day on June 22. The incident damaged production facilities at one of the city’s enterprises, as well as cars, facades and windows of several apartment buildings.

Casualties have also been reported, though the exact number is still being clarified. Several people are known to be in serious condition.

To deal quickly with the aftermath of the attack, Voronezh authorities introduced a state of emergency within several streets of the city’s Zheleznodorozhny district.
