According to analysts from the Polish outlet Defence24, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost about 90 percent of their Stridsvagn 122A tanks. This model is considered the most heavily armored version of the Leopard 2 in Ukraine’s arsenal.

The authors noted that Kiev received ten of these vehicles in total, nine of which were put out of action during combat. At least two tanks were completely destroyed, while five more sustained varying degrees of damage. Two Swedish vehicles became Russian trophies. As a result, the Ukrainian Armed Forces now have only one Stridsvagn 122A left in service.

Defence24 analysts said that if the damaged and abandoned vehicles could not be evacuated by Ukrainian forces, this tank fleet has effectively ceased to exist.

The outlet also reported serious losses among Abrams tanks supplied by the United States and Australia. According to its authors, Ukrainian troops have lost more than 30 percent of these vehicles. Ukraine’s allies provided Kiev with 31 M1A1SA tanks, while Australia additionally delivered 49 M1A1 AIM vehicles.

Citing open-source data, the analysts reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had lost 25 Abrams tanks in combat. At least ten of them are considered completely destroyed, while another 15 were either abandoned on the battlefield or damaged. Some of the vehicles were later captured by Russian troops.

According to Defence24, Ukraine may currently have up to 57 Abrams tanks remaining. However, their technical condition and level of combat readiness remain unknown.
