Over the past night, Russian air defense systems destroyed 143 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported.
According to the military department, the drones were fixed-wing kamikaze unmanned aerial vehicles. They were intercepted and destroyed between 8:00 p.m. on June 22 and 7:00 a.m. on June 23.
The Defense Ministry specified that the Ukrainian drones were destroyed in the skies over the Rostov, Bryansk, Astrakhan, Kursk and Belgorod regions, Krasnodar and Stavropol territories, Crimea and Adygea, as well as over the waters of the Black and Azov seas.
As a reminder, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attempt to attack facilities on Russian territory with drones every day. Air defense forces detect and shoot down the vast majority of enemy UAVs. In response, the Russian Armed Forces carry out precision strikes on Ukraine’s military-industrial complex, troop concentrations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and foreign mercenaries, as well as weapons and equipment depots, communications hubs, energy facilities and command posts.
