Rostec’s press service said specialists are continuing to upgrade the T-90M Proryv tank, taking into account feedback from Russian servicemen involved in the special military operation.
According to the state corporation, particular attention in recent months has been given to improving the tank’s electronic warfare system.
Rostec Deputy Director General Nikolay Volobuyev said the T-90 remains a well-known combat vehicle that has become more powerful and better protected. He noted that its modernization is ongoing, with specialists refining the equipment in response to new tasks coming from the front line.
The company also said the tank’s upper hemisphere protection has been reinforced, while additional armor has been added to the projection of the engine-transmission compartment.
Uralvagonzavod is continuing work on further improving both passive and active protection systems for the T-90M. At this stage, the main focus of the upgrades is on increasing the tank’s survivability and improving crew safety.
Earlier, Uralvagonzavod’s chief designer Andrey Terlikov said the T-90M is undergoing continuous modernization, including the introduction of all-round protection against drones. At the same time, the company is working on a next-generation tank using modern technologies.
