Russian troops have entered Konstantinovka, which the Ukrainian Armed Forces use as one of their strongholds in Donbass, and may soon establish control over the city. The Telegraph reported this.

The newspaper refers to Ukrainian soldiers who say that Konstantinovka has effectively become a gray zone and is not under the full control of either side. At the same time, the authors also point to a statement by the Russian Defense Ministry about operations being carried out inside the city.

The Telegraph notes that the advance of Russian forces has intensified concerns about the possible encirclement and subsequent capture of Konstantinovka. According to the newspaper, control of the city could open the way to Kramatorsk and Slavyansk, the last major Ukrainian strongholds in eastern Donetsk Region.

The outlet also draws a parallel with the actions of the Russian Armed Forces in Pokrovsk in 2025. According to its version, Russian troops are using a similar pattern: advancing along the flanks in order to encircle the city and cut off supply routes.
