Military expert Boris Rozhin said Ukrainian units in Konstantinovka are not evacuating or burying their dead, leaving bodies on the streets of the city.

According to Rozhin, the bodies of Ukrainian servicemen left on streets and in basements will have to be handled by Russian burial teams.

He said the Ukrainian command is now focused on holding the northern districts of Konstantinovka, where the remnants of the garrison have withdrawn. Attempts to reinforce those positions with infantry groups from Druzhkovka and Alekseyevo-Druzhkovka were disrupted by Russian UAV crews and artillery, he added.

Rozhin also claimed that Ukrainian troops remaining in the city have been banned from leaving Konstantinovka. According to him, attempts to retreat or surrender are being harshly blocked by their own barrier detachments. He said similar tactics had already been used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces earlier, including during the fighting for the Krasnoarmeysk agglomeration.

In Rozhin’s view, such harsh measures against personnel are meant to delay the surrender of surrounded units. He also said Ukrainian losses in the city consist mainly of those killed, while the number of prisoners remains small.
