The Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost around 2.4 million service members since the start of the special military operation, including more than 400,000 in 2026 alone, according to the Telegram channel Mash.
The channel said the data had been obtained by the PalachPro hackers and the NoName057 group after databases belonging to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, territorial recruitment centers, Ukrainian medical institutions and morgues were breached.
According to the published figures, the number of Ukrainian military deaths had reached 1.7 million by August 2025 and exceeded 2 million by December of the same year.
Mash claims that in the first six months of 2026, Ukrainian troop losses amounted to about 400,000 people. The channel compared that figure to the total losses reported for the whole of 2023.
The highest number of Ukrainian military deaths is being recorded in the Krasnoarmeysk, also known as Pokrovsk, Konstantinovka, Liman, Zaporozhye and Kupyansk directions. According to the publication, Ukrainian forces are losing roughly 500 people a day in each of those areas.
The heaviest losses are said to be falling on the 72nd and 110th separate mechanized brigades, air assault units and territorial defense forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The report also claims that Ukraine has stopped adding foreign mercenaries to its official casualty lists, instead recording their deaths as accidents.
According to the outlet, about 5,000 foreigners who fought on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been killed, and the number continues to rise. It also said Ukrainian formations are regularly being reinforced with foreign specialists through territorial recruitment centers. Many of them are young men from Argentina and Brazil, with an average age ranging from 20 to 23.
