Assault units of Russia’s «South» group of forces continue offensive operations in Konstantinovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, advancing along several axes at once. The fiercest fighting is taking place in the southwestern part of the city, where Russian troops are carrying out clearing operations and eliminating scattered Ukrainian Armed Forces groups. The information was included in the Russian Defense Ministry’s June 25 briefing on the course of the special military operation.

According to the ministry, Russian units took control of 127 buildings over the past day. Ukrainian losses in the area amounted to up to 90 servicemen. Russian forces also destroyed one artillery piece, 18 vehicles and 20 Ukrainian ground robotic systems.

In Krasny Liman, Russian troops captured nine enemy strongpoints and took control of 38 buildings. The Defense Ministry said units of the 67th Division, advancing westward, seized those positions during the operation.

The briefing also reported that up to 35 Ukrainian servicemen were eliminated in Krasny Liman. Assault detachments of Russia’s 25th Army continue fighting scattered Ukrainian formations inside the city.

Over the past day, two vehicles, eight ground robotic systems and two ammunition depots were also destroyed in Krasny Liman, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

The ministry said total Ukrainian Armed Forces losses over the past 24 hours amounted to about 1,600 troops.

The Russian Defense Ministry also released a video featuring the commander of an assault company from the 19th Tank Regiment of the 25th Combined Arms Army of the «West» group of forces, identified by the call sign «Gavr». He said Ukrainian troops are using houses and other buildings in Krasny Liman while hiding behind civilians.

According to the Russian officer, during the clearing of detached houses and other structures, UAV operators detect the presence of civilians whom Ukrainian forces are using as cover. For that reason, he said, Russian units try to minimize direct clashes inside such buildings in order to avoid civilian casualties.

Gavr also said that on the approaches to Krasny Liman, the Ukrainian army created a so-called «exclusion zone» by destroying forested areas. He described the zone as ranging from 700 meters to 1.5 kilometers wide and said it became the main obstacle for Russian units entering the city.
