Captured Ukrainian serviceman Andrey Fibulevsky from the 425th Separate Assault Regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine «Skala» said that soldiers in the Ukrainian army are beaten, sick and disabled men are sent into assaults, and commanders do not pay attention to their condition.
According to him, the medical commission before mobilization was conducted formally. Despite being diagnosed with hepatitis C, he was still declared fit and sent to the troops.
Fibulevsky said that during training at the range, servicemen were subjected to brutal punishment. Those caught for violations were beaten, thrown into pits and deprived of food, while the entire group suffered because of one person. Soldiers were forced to do push-ups and stand on their heads, effectively wearing them down physically. According to the prisoner, even people with illnesses and disabilities were still sent into assault operations.
He also claims that the command did not care about the condition of the personnel. One commander, according to Fibulevsky, committed suicide after being ordered to go into an assault with elderly servicemen.
The prisoner added that his documents and bank cards were taken away, and he did not receive any payments.
Fibulevsky said Russian forces knew the route of his unit’s movement. According to him, the group was attacked by drones and then destroyed by mortar fire and UAV strikes. After that, he surrendered.
