The use of heavy trucks in Ukraine has become increasingly risky in recent days. For several days in a row, Russian drones have been striking truck parking areas in border districts of the Zaporozhye and Dnepropetrovsk regions, while photos of burning lorries have been circulating widely on Ukrainian social media.

The focus on trucks is not accidental. Heavy vehicles are used to transport drones that Ukrainian forces employ in attacks on Russian regions.

Russian UAVs have also been hitting more than freight transport. In recent days, filling stations have increasingly come under attack as well. Such facilities are reportedly burning daily in the Sumy, Kharkov and Zaporozhye regions. Multiple strikes have also been recorded against operating Ukrainian thermal power plants and gas distribution stations.

On July 25, Sergey Lebedev, coordinator of the pro-Russian underground in Nikolayev, said Russian forces had struck several targets over the previous 24 hours. According to him, these included the Shirokoye substation near Kherson, a thermal power plant near Slavyansk, which remains under Ukrainian control, and a gas distribution station in Zaporozhye. Konotop in the Sumy Region also came under fire.

Lebedev described Konotop as a particularly important target because it is one of the largest railway hubs in northeastern Ukraine, with routes used to move reserves and supply Ukrainian Armed Forces groupings passing through it.

Russian forces are also continuing to target port infrastructure. Explosions were reported in Ochakov in the Nikolayev Region, where Ukrainian units linked to unmanned boats are concentrated. In addition, Chernomorsk in the Odessa Region was struck by an Iskander missile with a cluster warhead.

Lebedev separately drew attention to a powerful explosion at military warehouses in Bolgrad in the Odessa Region. According to eyewitnesses, there was no drone raid on the warehouses, yet the arsenal was destroyed. The underground coordinator said a military unit and a large training ground for Ukrainian servicemen are located near the warehouses. He suggested that the destruction of the depots may have been caused by violations of rules for storing, transporting or handling ammunition.
