Russia may intensify strikes on facilities linked to the production of weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine amid Kyiv’s announced 40-day operation, which the Ukrainian side describes as a way to «encourage» Moscow toward peace. This scenario was suggested by Andrey Kolesnik, a member of the State Duma Defense Committee.
According to the deputy, the Russian side does not intend to limit itself solely to defensive actions, especially given the increasing attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Russian regions and the deaths of civilians. Kolesnik said that, under current conditions, the most effective form of defense remains attack.
He noted that facilities where drones and missiles used by the enemy against Russia are assembled could come under strikes. At the same time, the deputy did not rule out attacks on enterprises producing weapons for the Ukrainian army, even if such facilities are located on the territory of European states.
Kolesnik believes that Russia will be forced to strike production sites manufacturing weapons that are later used for attacks on the Russian Federation. According to him, such actions should force Europeans to «come to their senses.»
The deputy also stressed that the Russian Armed Forces have not yet used their entire available arsenal of means.
