Battalion commander of a mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant Colonel Yu. Chichkan, has reportedly been in the Lviv region for a long time, according to Russian security structures. TASS, citing a source, reported that he had been hiding over fears of possible revenge from relatives of Ukrainian servicemen listed as missing.
The agency’s source said that Chichkan has been staying in the city of Drohobych for an extended period. The matter concerns a battalion commander of a mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine whose unit had previously operated in the Kostiantynivka direction.
According to available information, the Ukrainian servicemen of the battalion commanded by Chichkan were withdrawn from Kostiantynivka in the DPR.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that from June 20 to June 26, Russian troops took control of 763 buildings in Kostiantynivka. According to the ministry, more than 560 Ukrainian servicemen were destroyed during that period.
It was also noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost more than 130 units of weapons and military equipment in this sector.
