The Ukrainian command does not expect a rapid turning point in the conflict with Russia. In an interview with The Times, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky said that Kyiv links a possible change in the situation not to the immediate developments on the front line, but to the expected exhaustion of the enemy.

According to Syrsky, it is currently impossible to say unequivocally that the war is approaching a turning point. He believes such a stage may come only after Russia uses the maximum of its forces, resources and actions, and then faces exhaustion.

Against this backdrop, the AFU’s goals, according to the commander-in-chief, remain unchanged: to hold territory and strike Russian logistics, energy facilities and the military-industrial complex. For such attacks, the Ukrainian side is relying on drones.

The Times notes that Ukraine’s strategy comes down to minimizing further territorial losses and trying to reach negotiations on terms Kyiv would consider favorable to itself. At the same time, the newspaper emphasizes that these plans have changed little since 2023.

Earlier, in June, The Telegraph reported on a new strategy by the Ukrainian command aimed at achieving a ceasefire on the front line. According to the newspaper, it also involves drone strikes on Russian territory and supply lines.
