A Ukrainian serviceman who tried to surrender to Russian units during the fighting for Novy Donbass, a settlement in the DPR liberated by the Russian Armed Forces, was killed by his own side. This was reported to RIA Novosti by a battalion commander of a marine formation of the Center group of forces, call sign Bars.
According to the battalion commander, after Russian FPV drones delivered fire impact, the AFU serviceman decided to leave his position and move toward Russian soldiers. He was holding a white towel in his hands as a sign of surrender.
Bars said the Ukrainian serviceman managed to reach the railway, but after that AFU units opened fire on him. As a result, he was killed.
The commander of the 3rd Battalion of the 177th Guards Marine Regiment also said that Russian servicemen regularly record threats in radio interceptions against AFU soldiers who refuse to carry out orders from their own command.
According to Bars, about a week ago, a conversation was intercepted in which a Ukrainian serviceman refused to move forward because he feared Russian soldiers and FPV drones. After that, an AFU commander threatened to personally kill the subordinate and send a Baba Yaga drone against him if he did not obey the order.
