After achieving the goals of the special military operation, Russia will have to develop new approaches to security interaction with European countries. This was stated to TASS by Alexander Trofimov, ambassador-at-large at the Russian Foreign Ministry.

According to him, the next task will be to determine possible formats of engagement with Europe and understand what place they may occupy in the broader Eurasian security architecture.

Trofimov also linked the current situation to the crisis around Ukraine, which, as he noted, was provoked by the Western side and then moved into a hot phase. In this context, the diplomat drew attention to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s article «Ukraine, Europe and Global Security.»

Against this backdrop, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the OSCE Dmitry Polyansky earlier said that Europe is systematically and consistently preparing for war with Russia. According to the diplomat, while the idea of such a conflict being inevitable once seemed wild to the European public, the elites of a number of countries are now competing in spreading lies about Russia and staging sophisticated provocations.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko also linked the situation to the threat of a new large-scale military confrontation. He considered it necessary to prevent such a scenario, pointing to the rapid militarization of Western countries and the revival of Nazism as factors that have once again made this danger acute for humanity.
