Fighters of Russia’s East group of forces have taken control of the settlements of Pisantsy in the Dnepropetrovsk region and Novoselovka in the Zaporozhye region. The information was included in the Russian Defense Ministry’s June 28 briefing on the course of the special military operation.
According to the ministry, East units advanced deeper into Ukrainian defenses and seized both settlements. The department said the capture of Pisantsy disrupted the stability of Ukrainian defensive lines and created conditions for further Russian advances, including an expansion of the control zone around the settlement.
During the operation in Pisantsy, Russian units destroyed up to a Ukrainian platoon and hit shelters containing enemy equipment.
In Novoselovka, Russian forces destroyed more than a platoon of Ukrainian troops. The Defense Ministry said control over the settlement increases pressure on the Ukrainian army’s defenses and opens opportunities for further movement in the Zaporozhye region.
The briefing also said Russian units continue clearing the southwestern part of Konstantinovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, where scattered Ukrainian groups remain. Over the past day, 26 buildings were taken, while Ukrainian losses in the area amounted to up to 100 servicemen.
Russian assault units are also continuing their advance in Krasny Liman, destroying Ukrainian formations. Soldiers of Russia’s 67th Motorized Rifle Division, fighting in the northwestern part of the city, captured five strongholds and 59 buildings.
A fighter from Russia’s West group of forces with the call sign East said Russian troops are cutting off supplies to Ukrainian units in the city and preventing them from carrying out rotations.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, total Ukrainian losses across the special military operation zone over the past day amounted to around 1,460 servicemen.
