NATO’s decision on a possible armed confrontation with Russia will largely depend on the outcome of the alliance’s upcoming summit in Ankara, the Turkish newspaper Türkiye reported.

The author of the article argues that Europe is already assessing the likelihood of a large-scale war with Russia. According to the publication’s estimates, such a scenario could materialize by 2030.

Against this backdrop, the Turkish columnist points to the importance of the statements and assessments expected at the NATO summit in Ankara. The article notes that the meeting could produce significant and unexpected results.

The publication said the signals sent from the Turkish capital in the name of global peace would be closely watched.

At the same time, the journalist expressed hope that common sense would ultimately prevail on matters of war and peace.

The summit of NATO member states is scheduled to take place on July 7–8 in the Turkish capital.
