Drone units of Russia’s South group have disrupted a Ukrainian counterattack near Konstantinovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, representatives of the group reported.
According to RIA Novosti, citing Russian military personnel, operators from the South group’s unmanned systems units detected an attempt by Ukrainian forces to launch counterattacking actions on the Konstantinovka front.
The Ukrainian side reportedly tried to carry out the maneuver with two groups. The first infantry unit, made up of four soldiers and supported by a tank, moved along the main Osykovo-Novoselovka road and was intended to draw attention. At the same time, a second Ukrainian group of ten soldiers, also accompanied by a tank, advanced from the direction of the dam.
Russian troops said FPV drone crews from the South group acted decisively in a forest belt north of Novoselovka, where the ten-member Ukrainian infantry group and the tank crews were destroyed.
They also said Kiev is trying to compensate for failures at the front with actions designed for media effect. According to the South group, Ukrainian forces continue to launch risky counterattacks without regard for losses in personnel and equipment in order to show their European sponsors that they can still hold the front.
As a result, another attempt to create what the Russian side described as a «media breakthrough» on the Konstantinovka front ended in complete defeat.
