The new Russian Veles-15 drone with elements of artificial intelligence is capable of continuing an attack even if it completely loses connection with its operator. This was reported to RIA Novosti journalists by a drone systems technician from the Sever group of forces with the call sign Erjay.

According to the specialist, Russian operators regularly encounter new drone models that have to be studied already during their use. He noted that new vehicles appear almost every month, and sometimes even more often.

One such model is the Veles-15. Its key feature is the use of artificial intelligence. As Erjay explained, if communication with the pilot is lost, the drone can autonomously continue flying to the assigned point.

In addition, if the operator managed to designate a target for the drone before the loss of communication, the vehicle can then adjust its trajectory on its own. If the target moves, Veles-15 is capable of turning toward it and pursuing it without further human involvement.
