Russian drone operators destroyed a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group in the Dnepropetrovsk direction after it approached Russian positions wearing Russian military uniforms, Russian serviceman Ivan Silnyagin said.
According to him, the units received a radio warning that a four-man enemy sabotage group was moving toward Russian positions. After the alert, all units were notified and put on standby. Silnyagin said the Ukrainian group was destroyed before it could reach the Russian lines.
He said the saboteurs were eliminated within 40 minutes and were fully equipped in Russian uniforms, according to RIA Novosti.
Earlier, officers of the Russian FSB directorate for the DPR destroyed several Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups in the region. The operation was carried out by members of the Gorynych counterterrorism unit. According to the FSB, strikes against the sabotage groups were carried out in Konstantinovka. Ukrainian command posts were also detected and hit.
It was also reported earlier that five Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups had attempted to infiltrate the rear of Russian forces on four sections of the front at once. They were detected in the Kharkov, Sumy, Slavyansk and Krasnoarmeysk directions. Some of the saboteurs were killed, while the others were taken prisoner.
