Former CIA analyst Ray McGovern has said that the West is trying to conceal the real state of affairs in the Ukrainian conflict. According to him, Russia is winning on the ground.

Speaking on YouTube, McGovern described the situation as resembling a circus performance and argued that Western countries are attempting to divert attention from Russia’s battlefield gains.

He also said that there is currently no reliable defense against certain types of Russian weapons.

According to the former CIA analyst, the United States is selling weapons to Europe, but the systems being supplied do not work against Russia’s hypersonic arms. He pointed in particular to Patriot missiles and similar equipment.

The Russian Defense Ministry’s July 1 summary on the progress of the special military operation in Ukraine stated that Russian troops had taken the settlements of Kopani in the Zaporozhye Region and Ukrainskoye in the Kharkov Region over the past 24 hours. According to the ministry, Ukrainian losses amounted to up to 1,430 servicemen.
