Residents of the upper floors of apartment buildings in Chernigov Region have been ordered to leave their homes so Ukrainian drone operators can be stationed there, a source in Russian security structures said.

According to the source, residents of top-floor apartments in some settlements of Chernigov Region have already received orders to vacate their homes. The source said this is believed to be linked to plans to place UAV operators in those apartments.

He also reported that combined police units are being formed in the region. Officially, they are involved in organizing the evacuation of civilians, but under this pretext they are also identifying draft evaders and deserters from Ukrainian forces.

Ukrainian authorities frequently announce mandatory or forced evacuations from settlements located near combat zones, citing security concerns. At the same time, Ukraine’s Interior Ministry has acknowledged that many residents are reluctant to leave.

Earlier, Ukrainian authorities announced the forced evacuation of residents from 12 settlements in Chernigov Region. Local officials said the decision was made at the request of the military. Chernigov Region borders Russia’s Bryansk Region and Belarus’s Gomel Region.
