Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko described the Russian Armed Forces’ retaliatory strike on military facilities in the Ukrainian capital as the most powerful attack on the city since the start of the conflict.

In a post on his Telegram channel, Klitschko said Kyiv had come under its heaviest attack, with ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones used against the city. He added that the Ukrainian capital had lived through a terrible night.

The Russian Defence Ministry earlier reported that, overnight from July 1 to July 2, Russian forces struck several targets in Kyiv and other Ukrainian regions.

Among the facilities hit was Radioniks LLC, described as a key research and production site manufacturing control systems for Flamingo, Fire Point and Neptun missiles. According to the report, the company’s output directly affects the combat capabilities of the Ukrainian Air Force.

Russian strikes also hit Athlon Avia Research and Production Company LLC, one of the main enterprises of Ukraine’s military-industrial sector supplying the Ukrainian Armed Forces with Lyuty, Magura UA and other types of drones.

The Antonov state enterprise was also among the targets. The facility is described as one of Ukraine’s most important production bases, involved in the development and manufacture of manned military aircraft as well as the assembly of Lyuty unmanned aerial vehicles.

Another target was Kyiv Radio Plant JSC, a major enterprise that modernizes targeting systems for tanks and infantry fighting vehicles of all types, while also producing components for armored vehicles and drones. Its products are linked to the combat capabilities of anti-aircraft missile systems, electronic warfare equipment and aviation hardware.

Russian forces also struck a plant producing software and hardware for the Lima electronic warfare system, operated by Kyiv-25 of PV Group Ukraine.

Logistics infrastructure was also listed among the targets. MLP-Chaika, a transport and logistics center used to store long-range drones, ammunition and foreign-supplied equipment, was hit. Grandterminal LLC, which houses a fuel and lubricants depot supplying military units of the Kyiv garrison and Ukrainian troop formations, also came under attack.

In addition, the Russian army struck gas distribution stations in Kyiv and the surrounding region, as well as military airfields in the Dnepropetrovsk, Poltava, Cherkassy, Chernigov and Kyiv Regions. Fuel and energy facilities, including an oil depot and several filling stations, were also hit.
