Russia’s low-observable Kh-69 cruise missile, which can be carried by fifth-generation Su-57 fighter jets, has been fitted with additional fuel tanks mounted on its warhead section. The detail was highlighted by the Telegram channel Osvedomitel, which drew attention to a video showing the missile’s warhead being examined.

According to an assessment by Ukrainian combat engineers who studied the missile unit, the Kh-69 warhead contains 70 submunitions. The missile’s internal equipment is arranged in two compartments, while extra kerosene tanks are installed on the warhead section.

The Kh-69 is a stealth version of the Kh-59MK2 missile. It has a square-section body, a design that allows the maximum possible number of missiles to be carried inside an aircraft’s internal bays.

The missile can be equipped with various warheads weighing more than 300 kilograms. Its estimated range is 300 to 400 kilometers.

Earlier, media reports said Russian Su-57 fighter jets had begun receiving unusual weapons that are likely intended to destroy enemy unmanned aerial vehicles.
