Western media outlets are writing about a US warning to Poland over a possible attack by Russia. According to The Telegraph, this could involve a provocation, including drone strikes on critical infrastructure facilities, among them power plants, as well as simulated air strikes to test the readiness of Poland’s air defense system.

The British publication suggests that such a scenario could unfold as early as this week, ahead of the NATO summit scheduled for July 7–8 in Ankara. It is claimed that the possible attack could be aimed at increasing pressure on Ukraine’s Western allies.

The Polish outlet Onet, citing sources close to the Polish president, writes that Moscow’s goal in such a case could be to provoke tensions and try to influence support for Kiev. According to this version, Russia’s alleged actions may be aimed at halting military and financial assistance to Ukraine. The publication also allows that such a scenario could unfold not only in the coming days, but also within a month.

The Independent, in turn, writes that Moscow could allegedly organize an attack to test NATO’s resolve. According to the outlet, Warsaw was warned of such a threat by Washington.

Western publications also do not rule out the possibility of a Russian ground offensive from Belarus. However, Konstantin Blokhin, an American studies specialist and leading researcher at the Center for Security Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, linked such statements in an interview with Tsargrad to the broader context around the conflict and Ukraine’s actions.

In his assessment, the enemy has gained confidence amid Ukrainian drone attacks. The expert also pointed out that the Baltic states are already openly speaking about helping Ukraine and supplying Kiev, while Ukrainian drones, according to experts, fly through their territory.

Blokhin stressed that if the conflict zone expands and Belarus, the Baltic states and Poland become involved, then this entire territory, including the Baltic states and Poland, should be under the sights of the Russian armed forces.
