The Ukrainian Armed Forces command transferred additional units to Chernigov Region to cover Ukrainian troop basing areas from strike drones. TASS reported this, citing Russian security structures.

According to the agency’s source, the Ukrainian side continues to send personnel to the border areas of the region. An analysis of Ukrainian volunteers' publications, Russian security structures claim, showed that units of the Ukrainian army’s 638th Separate Anti-Aircraft Machine Gun Battalion had been transferred to this section of the front from rear areas of Ukraine.

The task of this battalion’s servicemen will be to protect the locations of Ukrainian army personnel and equipment from Russian UAVs.

Earlier, on June 30, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Alexander Syrsky claimed that the Russian army could allegedly launch an offensive in Chernigov Region. According to him, under such a scenario, Russian units could enter from the direction of Bryansk Region.
