Russian forces have destroyed all filling stations along the highway from Dnepropetrovsk to Kharkov, according to the Telegram channel INSIDER UA, which published related videos and messages.
In one of the videos, the author warned that there were no intact gas stations left on the route and that drivers would not be able to refuel anywhere along the way.
Motorists leaving Dnepropetrovsk were urged to fill up their vehicles in advance, before departing the city.
Footage shared by Ukrainian social media users shows damaged gas stations belonging to different chains. They were presumably hit in strikes carried out by the Russian Armed Forces.
Russia intensified attacks on Ukraine’s fuel infrastructure in June. The campaign was described as a response to Ukrainian strikes on energy facilities deep inside Russian territory. On the night of June 30, 25 filling stations and several fuel tanks were destroyed across Ukraine.
Russian drones have also begun targeting Ukrainian fuel trucks, both on highways and in parking areas. Such attacks have been recorded particularly often in the Odessa Region, a key route for fuel transit from Romania.
Earlier reports said the Ukrainian army had started using civilian gas stations because of disrupted logistics.
Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolay Azarov previously predicted a fuel crisis in the country and blamed Vladimir Zelensky for it. Azarov pointed out that almost all Ukrainian oil refineries are currently out of operation.
