During the night of July 5–6, the Russian Armed Forces struck several military enterprises in Kiev. The Russian Defense Ministry later named the specific facilities targeted in the attack.

According to the ministry, the strikes hit Kiev-71 and Burevestnik, enterprises involved in the production of unmanned aerial vehicles. The list also included the Kuznitsa na Rybalskom shipyard, which produces Gyurza-M artillery boats.

Another target was Kiev-79, also known as UKR ARMO TECH LLC. The Russian Defense Ministry described it as one of the key manufacturers and suppliers of armored vehicles, as well as ammunition for missiles and UAVs used by the Ukrainian army.

The Kiev-1 instrument-making plant, also known as Kvant, was damaged as well. According to the ministry, the facility produces Neptun-MD missiles, electro-optical countermeasure systems, and navigation and automation equipment for the Ukrainian Air Force and Navy.

In the Kiev Region, the Zhulyansky machine-building plant Vizar was hit. The plant is used to repair surface-to-air missile systems, and secondary detonation was recorded at the site.

The strike also reportedly damaged a fuel and lubricants depot belonging to Nefteeksperimentalnoye KP. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, gasoline and diesel fuel from the facility had been supplied to the combat zone.

Earlier on July 6, the Defense Ministry announced a massive strike on targets in Ukraine. The ministry said the attack was carried out in response to what it called terrorist strikes by the Kiev regime against civilian infrastructure inside Russia.

The stated targets included energy facilities, defense industry enterprises, and military airfield infrastructure. The ministry said long-range precision weapons and attack drones were used. Strikes were carried out against sites in Kiev and the Kiev Region, as well as military airfield infrastructure in the Dnepropetrovsk, Poltava, Cherkasy, Chernigov, and Kiev regions.
