Ukrainian forces may have hidden hundreds of drones underground and outside the country for future attacks on Russian territory, military expert and retired Captain 1st Rank Vasily Dandykin said.

According to him, some of these unmanned aerial vehicles may be located in Italy, Germany and Lithuania. Dandykin argued that the Ukrainian Armed Forces could store large numbers of drones in underground facilities, including bunkers and industrial sites left from the Soviet period, since drone storage does not require the kind of space needed for aircraft production.

The expert also said attention should now be focused on the Baltic states, through whose airspace, in his view, Ukrainian UAVs fly toward Saint Petersburg.

Earlier, Leningrad Region Governor Alexander Drozdenko reported that air defense forces had shot down 47 drones attempting to attack the region. According to him, debris from the destroyed UAVs was found in two locations — near the Luga training ground and in the area of the port of Ust-Luga.

Political analyst Alexey Chadayev previously said Russia needs to develop faster drone interception systems. He noted that most existing tools work effectively against propeller-driven UAVs flying at around 130–140 kilometers per hour, but more complex targets require different solutions.
