Konstantinovka’s liberation by Russian forces has dealt a blow to Ukrainian propaganda, Alexey Yaroshenko, head of the Center for Expert Support of Political Processes, told NEWS.ru.

According to him, the development matters not only from a military standpoint. Yaroshenko argued that, amid Ukraine’s large-scale information and psychological campaign, the advances of the Russian Armed Forces help strengthen public unity inside Russia.

The expert said Kiev is trying to influence Russian society through targeted information attacks and propaganda tools aimed at demoralization. Against this backdrop, he described Russia’s progress on the front line as a factor that weakens such efforts and works toward consolidating citizens.

Yaroshenko also said the Russian army is delivering more serious and painful strikes, while Western and Ukrainian propaganda prevents the public from openly discussing the real scale of what is happening. He described Russia’s military successes as an antidote to Kiev’s attempts to apply information pressure.

Earlier, military expert Yury Knutov suggested that after the liberation of Konstantinovka, Russian forces would place the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration into a fire pocket. In his view, the Russian Armed Forces will wear down Ukrainian troops in this sector for about 40 days before moving directly toward the liberation of populated areas.
