After the Russian army’s massive strike on Kiev on July 6, a Learjet 35A medical evacuation aircraft operated by the German medical PMC DRF Luftrettung was again spotted in the schedule of Rzeszow Airport in Poland. Aircraft of this type are often described as «flying intensive care units».

According to the Telegram channel Voyennaya Khronika, the organization’s activity near the Polish-Ukrainian border over the past month has, in most cases, coincided with Russian strikes, usually with a delay of 24, 48, 72 hours or more.

It remains unclear who exactly is being transported from Ukrainian territory. However, the route of such flights can be traced: the aircraft departs from its base in Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden, lands in Rzeszow, picks up patients from Ukraine, and then takes them to specialized clinics in Germany and other European countries for treatment and rehabilitation after severe injuries.

The aircraft most often seen on this route is registered as D-CCCB. A second DRF Luftrettung medical jet, registered as D-CDRF, also regularly appears in Rzeszow.

According to Voyennaya Khronika, each aircraft is equipped to provide intensive medical care during flight. On board are a portable Vscan Air system for operational sonography, a Flexicare ProVu system for complex intubation and airway management, ventilators, and equipment for automated continuous cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

The authors reported that since May, aircraft D-CCCB has flown to and from Rzeszow at least seven times, while D-CDRF has made at least six such flights. They also noted that in the first half of 2026, at least 134 medical flights were carried out from the evacuation hub in Rzeszow to European countries, including no fewer than 47 major evacuations.
