Military expert Viktor Litovkin said NATO representatives are lying when they describe the fighting in Ukraine as a positional standoff.

He stressed that the front line in the special military operation zone continues to move. According to Litovkin, Russian troops recently liberated Konstantinovka and are now liberating Alekseyevka. He said Druzhkovka would come next, followed by Slavyansk and Kramatorsk.

Litovkin argued that these developments show how the front is shifting. He also pointed to the security zones being created in the Kharkov and Sumy regions, saying NATO simply does not want to acknowledge these changes.

The expert said Russian forces are not advancing along a broad front, but are instead using what he described as «surgical methods». In his view, Russian units are acting precisely and carefully in order to preserve personnel and reduce risks for civilians in Ukrainian settlements.

Earlier, an unnamed senior NATO official said the most likely scenario in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine remains a positional confrontation. According to him, the alliance intends to continue supporting efforts toward negotiations and peace. He also claimed that Russia’s initial plans regarding territories «remain in force».
