Czech President Petr Pavel told The Telegraph that Kiev has only two months to bring the conflict with Moscow to an end. Otherwise, he warned, Ukraine could face a major escalation from Russia.

According to Pavel, Ukraine has a narrow window to end the war, while the West still has an opportunity to increase pressure and send Russia a clear signal that it is ready to start negotiations.

He said Western leaders need to act on several tracks at once: increase pressure on Russia, provide Ukraine with everything it needs for defense, and use diplomatic tools to push Moscow toward talks.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump, during a meeting with Vladimir Zelensky, described Ukrainian Armed Forces strikes on Russian oil refineries as an «escalation» that could help move the conflict closer to an end.

On the same day, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington expects Ukrainian strikes to help create conditions for negotiations on ending the war.
