Russian forces have electronic warfare systems capable of disrupting the Starlink satellite network used by Ukrainian troops in the special military operation zone, military expert Alexey Leonkov told NEWS.ru.
According to Leonkov, electronic warfare equipment interferes with and suppresses satellite signals. As a result, Ukrainian drones that rely on Starlink lose their effectiveness.
The expert also addressed reports in Western media alleging that China is helping Russia counter the satellite system. He described the claims as information planted to link Beijing to the Ukrainian conflict, adding that similar attempts had been made before.
Russian engineers have also developed the Volna Kupol Garant electronic warfare system. Designed to suppress Starlink communications, the complex consists of several trailers fitted with satellite antennas and can direct powerful interference toward a selected satellite.
