Two powerful strikes were recorded at the port of Ilyichevsk in the Odessa Region, according to representatives of the pro-Russian underground. In an exclusive comment to aif.ru, retired colonel and military expert Anatoly Matviychuk explained which targets may have been hit.

Matviychuk noted that Ilyichevsk is a commercial port primarily specialising in the receipt and shipment of grain. However, according to the expert, Western sponsors had used grain shipments as cover to deliver weapons to Ukraine, including unmanned surface vessels, homing torpedoes and other military equipment.

Based on this, Matviychuk considers ammunition depots the most likely targets of the strikes. He said the destroyed cargo may have included Neptune missiles, torpedoes and other weapons.

According to the expert, reports from witnesses about a powerful secondary explosion and a column of smoke indirectly support this version.

The previous night, the Russian Armed Forces carried out a major strike against military infrastructure at the port of Odessa. The targets included ammunition depots, bases used by unmanned surface vessels and fuel infrastructure.
