Russian forces continued to strengthen their positions across the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, according to the Russian Defense Ministry’s July 12 battlefield report. The ministry put total Ukrainian personnel losses over the previous 24 hours at more than 1,465.
Units of Russia’s North grouping improved their tactical position and struck Ukrainian mechanized and motorized infantry brigades near Stepok and Mogritsa in the Sumy Region.
In the Kharkov Region, Russian forces targeted personnel and equipment from several Ukrainian formations, including territorial defense and National Guard units, near Staritsa, Baksheyevka, Bely Kolodez, Vodyanoye, Veseloye, Lozovaya and Ustinovka. The ministry estimated Ukrainian losses in this sector at 185 troops, along with one armored combat vehicle, 13 vehicles and an electronic warfare station.
The West grouping secured more favorable positions near Malyevka, Peski-Radkovskiye, Krasny Liman and Shchurovo. According to the report, Ukrainian forces lost more than 220 personnel, five armored combat vehicles, 17 other vehicles and one artillery piece.
On the Donetsk front, Russia’s South grouping improved its forward positions and attacked formations from five Ukrainian mechanized brigades, an airmobile brigade, a mountain assault brigade and a territorial defense brigade. The Russian Defense Ministry reported Ukrainian losses of up to 155 troops, six armored vehicles, 30 other vehicles, two artillery systems and one electronic warfare station.
Units of the Center grouping established themselves along more advantageous lines near Toretskoye, Rubezhnoye, Annovka, Shevchenko, Sergeyevka and Ivanovka. The ministry said Ukrainian losses in this area exceeded 355 personnel. One tank, one armored combat vehicle, seven other vehicles and two electronic warfare stations were also hit.
The East grouping advanced deeper into Ukrainian defenses and struck two airborne assault brigades, three assault regiments and two marine brigades. The Russian side estimated Ukrainian losses in this sector at up to 495 troops, two armored vehicles, eight other vehicles and one artillery piece.
Russia’s Dnepr grouping attacked Ukrainian formations near Orekhov, Yurkovka, Malokaterinovka and Novoalexandrovka. According to the ministry, Ukrainian forces lost up to 55 personnel, 17 vehicles, one artillery system and three electronic warfare stations.
Over the course of the day, Russian tactical aviation, missile forces, artillery and drones struck fuel and energy facilities, transport infrastructure, ammunition depots and temporary Ukrainian deployment sites across 158 areas.
The Russian Defense Ministry also reported that air defense units intercepted 11 guided aerial bombs and 585 drones during the same period.
