Russian air defense units intercepted and destroyed 342 drones launched by Ukrainian forces between the evening of July 12 and the morning of July 13, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

The ministry said the aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down between 8:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. Moscow time.

The drones were intercepted over the Volgograd, Vladimir, Belgorod, Bryansk, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Rostov, Ryazan and Tula regions, as well as the Moscow Region, Krasnodar Territory, Crimea and Adygea. Additional targets were destroyed over the Azov and Black seas.

Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin reported that more than 350 drones had been heading toward the Moscow Region since 8:30 p.m. He said most were destroyed at long range, while 50 were intercepted as they approached the capital.

Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov said falling drone debris in Istra killed three people and injured three others. Five private houses caught fire after the wreckage came down.

In Solnechnogorsk, a drone struck an apartment building, injuring two people and damaging an exterior wall and windows.

Two private houses were damaged in the village of Babkino. In Mozhaisk, debris damaged a cornice and two windows in an apartment building, but no injuries were reported.

Vorobyov said air defense forces shot down a total of 81 drones over the Moscow Region during the night.

The Krasnodar Territory’s emergency response headquarters also reported damage from the attack. In the Temryuk District, falling drone fragments started a fire at an industrial site. Preliminary reports indicated that no one was injured.

In the Belorechensk District of Kuban, debris damaged an equipment hangar at another enterprise. No casualties were reported there either.
